The Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, Royal Academy of Engineering

The Task

We were invited to produce a live broadcast at the announcement of The Royal Academy of Engineering’s 2015 Queen Elizabeth Prize, which was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Andrew. We were also commissioned to create two films to work as part of the launch event to explain the prize and announce the winner.

Our Solution

We produced a live webcast, streaming content to a microsite. We provided all VNR elements and created an event highlights video. Our films were broadcast as part of the event. The first film celebrated some of the untold stories of engineering success and the people behind them talking about their work.

The second film announced the winner of this year’s prize with some of the prize judges explaining the reasons behind their choice. Dr Robert Langer was announced as this year’s winner for his work in engineering polymers for medicine, improving the lives of over 2 billion people across the world. The QEPrize announcement was well received by the national and international audience and widely used by news agencies.
