We were tasked to create a short film for the University of Southampton to increase awareness of data sharing and data privacy online. We created a short animation explainer film called ‘Big Data’ to raise awareness of how organisations use personal data we all share online.
Working with the University, we developed a playful animation style in order to appeal to the intended audience in an engaging yet informative way in line with the subject matter. As well as creating a visually appealing animation, we had to consider effective content distribution ensuring that it was accessible across all platforms, devices and to all audiences. With this in mind, we added narration as well as subtitles where appropriate so the content could be enjoyed with or without sound.
