The Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering asked us to create a film about the winner of the 2015 Queen Elizabeth Prize, biochemical engineer Dr Robert Langer who pioneered the slow-releasing mechanism in drugs used to treat cancer patients and those with mental health issues.
We came up with a treatment for an animation that explored Dr Robert Langer’s past and his journey to becoming a winner of the Queen Elizabeth Prize. Using archive images from Dr Robert Langer himself including photographs from his childhood and his early days in the lab, we overlaid these with a fun animation and humorous script and voiceover looking at his history as well as informing the audience about why he is such a deserving winner of this prestigious prize.
